Throughout the world, Vajrayana Buddhist practitioners of the Nyingma and other traditions celebrate the Guru Rinpoche Tsok on the 10th day,
and the Dakini Tsok on the 25th day, of the lunar calendar. The Tibetan word tsok meanings gathering or accumulation. The Tsok Ceremony is a sacred
moment which completes the four gatherings or accumulations of male and female practitioners, offering substances, wisdom deities and merit.
During the Tsok Ceremony, along with meditation and prayers, we make offerings of many things, including tea lights, flowers and various foods brought by
the participants. Food offerings include cooked grains and beans, raw and cooked vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, cheese, yogurt, eggs, pickles, herbs,
sweets and juice, along with meat and alcohol. Through meditation and mantra recitation, the offerings are consecrated and offered to the invoked gathering
of enlightened beings, to bless sentient beings and free them from suffering. At the end of the ceremony, the food and drink are shared by all, and the
merit which has been generated is dedicated for the benefit of all beings.
Participants are requested to arrive at least 15 - 30 minutes early so that all food offerings can be placed on the tsok table before starting
the Tsok Ceremony on time. For further information contact us. Please always check the monthly calendar or call the centre to confirm dates and
times for Tsoks and special anniversary events.
